Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jamie was adopted as an infant by an American couple. She was raised in Zanesville, Ohio. At the age of six, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (left-sided hemiplegia). Later, she became involved with Nationwide Children’s Adult Cerebral Palsy Clinic where it was discovered that she has a rare condition known as bilateral schizencephaly, which is directly linked to her cerebral palsy.
Jamie is a passionate, caring individual who finds it gratifying to use her personal and professional knowledge to improve the quality of life for patients with physical challenges, including cerebral palsy. From her own experience, she recognizes the lack of adult care providers who are well-versed in cerebral palsy. She sees the need for more resources for adults living with cerebral palsy, particularly in light of its impact on aging. In her spare time, Jamie enjoys reading, watching Netflix, trying new foods, and travelling. She is especially fond of Sanibel Island, but any beach feels like home to her!
